This renovated 1940s home on more than seven acres in Fairfield, Conn., includes six bedrooms, several fireplaces, a wine cellar, a pool and extensive gardens. Lynn and Susan Rotando bought this home in Fairfield, Conn., about nine years ago and restored it. They updated the home’s electrical and plumbing systems. They also finished the basements, added a new roof and replaced many of the windows. The renovations took about two-and-a-half years. The Rotandos moved into the home in 2004.

The home sits on more than seven acres. It measures nearly 9,200 square feet. The home also includes a wine-tasting room. Located in Fairfield’s Greenfield Hill area, the 15-room home has six bedrooms. There are seven full bathrooms and two half-bathrooms.

The Rotandos have decided to sell the home in order to downsize. They plan to remain in the area but have decided they do not need a property of this size. The property includes tennis courts and a patio. Ms. Rotando has spent much time over the past few years restoring the gardens, says Mr. Rotando, who is a consultant in the advertising industry. The property also includes a pool and a pool house. Other outbuildings on the property include a barn and a potting shed. The property was listed last month by Andrew Whiteley of Fite Shavell and Associates. The asking price is $7.75 million.
